Zoya PixieDust: Godiva

 Happy Friday all!

Today I have for you one of the new Zoya PixieDust polishes, Godiva.  I was excited to receive the new PixieDust polishes, and chose this color first because I needed a nice nude for a job interview and Godiva was perfect!

Godiva is described as a soft nude with a sugared sparkle.  Below is two coats with a top coat.

 

 

Zoya suggests you not apply either a base or top coat when wearing the PixieDust polishes.  I am not one that likes the gritty feel of these new textured polishes, so I rebelled and applied a top coat...twice.  There was still a slight gritty feel, but it was quite lessened.  Even with the application of the top coat, the gorgeous sugar like sparkle of Godiva wasn't hidden.

Bumpy, gritty feeling aside, I loved wearing Godiva.  I'm used to my polish chipping while I'm at work, but this one didn't at all!  I was able to wear it for 3 days before chips started, and I was working each day.  That is totally an A+ in my book.

Nail Mail

There's been zero sunshine here lately, so showing polish swatches has been next to impossible.  Today I thought I'd share what's shown up at my house recently via Mr. Postman.  :)

Last week I received my February Julep box.  I am usually an American Beauty, but I didn't like those polishes this time around.  I chose to receive the It Girl box which allowed me to get 3 polishes and the new Freedom Top Coat.

I love how they put great little quotes in the packages.

All packaged nicely....

The February boxes were inspired by Hollywood glamour.  The polishes are named after Hollywood icons that epitomize glamour.  My It Girl box contained what you see below:

An eyelash curler, the new Freedom Top Coat, and the polishes Joan (red with gold shimmer, named after Joan Crawford), Rebel (a prismatic silver, named after Rebel Wilson), and Marion (blue with silver shimmer, named after Marion Cottillard).

I had enough Julep points to add a couple items onto my February box for free.  I chose the following that arrived a couple of days later:

The new Oxygen nail treatment and Ginger (gold prismatic, named after Ginger Rogers).

Yesterday I received the first box of my Square Hue subscription.  I've been waiting forever for it to arrive, and I'm so glad I decided to try this service.

OPI: Get Your Number

Hello lovelies!

We're celebrating a birthday here at the Smoochiefrog household; today my youngest boy is turning 16.  For the occasion, I have chosen a blue polish in honor of him being a male, with sparkles thrown in for good birthday measure.  :)

Here is Get Your Number from the new Mariah Carey Liquid Sand collection by OPI.

Below is two coats with no top coat in full sunlight.

 

 

 

Three coats probably would have eliminated that VNL, but I actually like it as is.  I've worn this color before, and with no top coat it was chipping like a boss that night at work.  Top Coat definitely helps it last longer.  Y'all have a great day!

L'Oreal: VIP Status

Happy Tuesday, Lovelies!

I was in quite the funk yesterday, so I picked a color I thought would complement that mood.  Turns out the color actually lifted me up a bit.

Here is two coats of L'Oreal's VIP Status with no topcoat in full sunlight.  Pardon the poor clean-up job.  I threw this on right before leaving for work, so I did the best I could.

Instructions for Zoya PixieDust application:

·         Clean and prep nail using Zoya Remove +
·         Magic Time! Apply 1 thin coat of Zoya PixieDust to each nail  - allow to dry completely (will appear matte with sparkle).
·         Apply an 1-2 coats of polish (allowing each to dry) as desired. We suggest 2-3 thin coats of Zoya PixieDust for a full coverage manicure.
·         That’s it - Done! You now have the latest textured nail look in the famous long-wearing, Big5Free Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish formula!

NOTE: Zoya PixieDust Nail Polish dry times are a little slower than with traditional polish but once dry, the Zoya PixieDust formulation will provide extended wear.
Best results are achieved by using the product alone. No basecoat or topcoat required. Layering of the Zoya PixieDust formulation with other polishes may produce less than desirable results.

Remove Zoya PixieDust by saturating a cotton pad in Zoya Remove + and pressing to nail for a few seconds. Repeat on each nail for best results.
